How do you smoke your smoked salmon?
Summer Isles marinade the salmon fillets in a brine laced with molassess, juniper berries and black peppercorns with a dash of garlic. This marinades for 6-8 hours. The fillers are smoked for 24 hours using whisky barrell chippings. The sides are then left for 3-4 hours to chill allow the delicate flavours to absorb, resulting in the perfect side of smoked salmon.
What if I want to place orders for multiple addresses?
Yes, we can certainly do that for you! Just give us a call on 01349 882624 and we will be happy to arrange delivery to multiple addresses.
Can I order a gift for a friend living abroad?
It depends where your friend is living. If you call 01349 882624 we will be happy to discuss your order and advise you on the costing. Currently you can not place an order for an address outside of the UK through the website
Can I send a gift message?
Yes you can. When you select the box to enter an alternative mailing address you will get a gift box option where you can write any message to a friend. We will be happy to include that with your order
What if I don’t want to buy online?
The Summer Isles Foods website is fully protected and guarantees you a safe and secure way to buy online. However, If you would feel more comfortable placing an order over the phone – just give us a call on 01349 882624 and somebody in our office will be happy to help.
What are the shelf lives of your products?
Generally we recommend 2-3 weeks for fish, meats and cheeses in your fridge. You can freeze fish products for another month on top of that – However, we recommend you enjoy our products fresh out of the pack, to get the most out of your purchase.
I am a returning customer, do I have to enter all my details again?
No, you don’t. If you have ordered from us previously you can click on the returning customer ‘login’. Then you can enter your email address and password – if you have forgotten your password (which we all do sometimes) then click on ‘forgotten password?’ and a new one will be sent to your email account.
Please note that we will never share your personal details with anyone, the user login is only there to make the ordering process quicker for you.
